We believe in the divine inspiration, authority, and sufficiency of the 66 books of Old and New Testament Scriptures, which have been graciously preserved by God. The Bible is the foundation for our lives, families, church, and our relationship with Jesus.
We believe there is one living and true God, an infinite, all-knowing Spirit, perfect in all His attributes and ways, eternally existing in three Persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – continually upholding, directing, and governing all things for His own glory.
We follow the literal, grammatical-historical interpretation of Scripture which affirms the belief that the opening chapters of Genesis present creation in six literal days.
We believe that, because all men were in Adam, a nature corrupted by Adam’s sin has been transmitted to every individual, Jesus being the only exception. All people are thus sinners by nature and by choice. Therefore, all people – being estranged from the life of God – have absolutely no way of spiritual recovery in themselves.
We believe Jesus – who is both divine and virgin born – accomplished our redemption through the shedding of His blood and sacrificial death on the cross and that His death was redemptive and substitutionary. Having fully fulfilled the law on our behalf, He victoriously rose from the dead and now continuously intercedes for His people as our mediator.
We believe salvation is wholly of God by grace on the basis of the redemption of Jesus Christ, the merit of His shed blood, and not on the basis of human merit or works. Salvation is a result of God’s sovereign choice, which results in the new birth and justification, a new righteous standing in union with Christ. Salvation is received by repentance from sin and trusting in Christ alone. True faith in Christ results in both eternal security and a life of growing and continual obedience to the Lord.
We believe every believer possesses the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit from the moment of salvation, and it is the duty of all those born of the Spirit to be filled with (controlled by) the Spirit. The Holy Spirit glorifies Jesus by guiding us through His Word and spiritually gifting His people for ministry. Speaking in tongues and the working of sign miracles in the beginning days of the church were for the purpose of authenticating the apostles as revealers of divine truth and were never intended to be the permanent experience of believers today.
We believe heaven and hell are literal, everlasting, and conscious locations; heaven being reserved for believers, and hell being reserved for unbelievers. We hold that Jesus will return to receive the church, which is His Body, unto Himself at the rapture, and returning with His church in glory, will establish His millennial kingdom on earth.
We believe in the responsibility for Christians to glorify the Lord in public worship of Christ, the building up of fellow believers, baptizing believers by immersion, and evangelizing the lost in the context of the local church. A healthy church commits itself to earnest prayer, personal discipleship, biblical instruction, godly repentance, and avoiding false teaching and teachers.
